OBSIDIAN EDGE
OBSIDIAN EDGE, hosted by
Nile Malloy
Transformative Coach. Advocate. Resource Mobilizer. Equity Strategist. Community Weaver.
The Obsidian Edge Podcast explores leadership, strategy, and transformation at the frontlines of change. Through conversations with coaches, consultants, organizers, strategist, and visionaries, the podcast uncovers how individuals and institutions navigate complexity, sharpen their practice, and drive meaningful impact. Rooted in community and guided by purpose, each episode offers insight, reflection, and actionable pathways for those building a more just and sustainable future.
Nile Malloy brings nearly three decades of experience as an interdisciplinary strategist working at the intersections of race, class, gender, education, policy, and the environment. His work spans nonprofit, public, philanthropic, education, and private sectors, advancing social, climate, environmental, economic, and youth development initiatives.
In 2025, Nile launched Obsidian Edge, a reimagined coaching and consulting practice dedicated to building a future where resources are distributed equitably and leaders have the capacity to win. Drawing from his experience across the consulting and coaching field, he witnessed the powerful behind the scenes impact of independent practitioners, small businesses, and larger firms.
In response, he created the Obsidian Edge podcast to spotlight the mycelium of coaches, consultants, and strategists, bringing this often unseen work to the forefront and amplifying their lessons and collective brilliance in service of individuals, institutions, and communities. Mycelium, as a metaphor for interconnected systems, reflects the unseen networks that sustain, share knowledge, and support collective growth, mirroring how these leaders operate as a powerful web of relationships and support that strengthens impact across sectors.
He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sustainability and African American Studies from the University of Michigan, and a Master’s in Anthropology and Social Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies, with a focus on Gender, Ecology, and Postcolonial Studies.
We launched the Obsidian Edge Podcast to amplify consultants, coaches, strategists, and organizers who provide skilled support to sharpen individuals and institutions, strengthening their capacity to drive meaningful impact.
As a wellness advocate, life coach, and social entrepreneur, his coaching and facilitation also help individuals and teams build emotional intelligence, restore internal balance, and lead with accountability and care.
Beyond his professional work, Nile is a creative writer, currently completing his debut novel, Obsidian Resurrection—a Black futurist, sci-fi family-centered thriller exploring power, healing, ancient rituals, revolution, and transformation. He also launched his Substack blog that weaves together stories, humor, ancestral wisdom, socio-political, environmental issues, tech and coaching and consulting tips.
Above all, Nile cherishes his role as a father to his teenage daughter and two teenage sons. He finds deep purpose in co-parenting and building community-based support systems that embody care, wholeness, and accountability.
ABOUT THE HOST
OBSIDIAN EDGE PODCAST
The Obsidian Edge Podcast would be honored to have you as a guest, an opportunity to promote, uplift, and bring your brilliance, clarity, and lived experience to our platform.
This is a space for real conversation. Not performance, but presence. Not just strategy, but the deeper currents that shape how we lead, build, and transform.
We are intentionally inviting leaders with expertise in consulting, coaching, strategy, and creative practice across sectors, communities, and movements, those who are part of the mycelium of change, working across visible and unseen layers to shift systems and narratives.
On Obsidian Edge, we explore the full spectrum of leadership, including:
Strategy, systems change, finance, and organizational transformation
Emotional intelligence, shadow work, and decision-making under pressure
Grief, loss, and the role they play in shaping leadership and purpose
Spirituality, healing, resilience, and navigating uncertainty in complex times
Creativity, innovation, and building what does not yet exist
Power, accountability, and aligning values with action
Social, environmental, philanthropic, tech, climate, human rights, and multi-sectoral issues driving change and innovation
We recognize that behind every strategy is a story. Behind every leader is a lived experience, often shaped by moments of transition, tension, and even grief. These conversations make space for that truth, honoring how loss, change, and reflection can sharpen clarity and deepen purpose.
As we launch, we are bringing together international stewards of change, voices that reflect the depth, diversity, and complexity of the work ahead.
If your work sits at the intersection of insight and impact, structure and soul, we invite you into this conversation.
Join us on Obsidian Edge, where pressure refines, truth cuts clean, and leadership becomes sharper.
We invite you into a 30–60 minute conversation—a space to share your insights, experiences, and the work shaping your path and impact.
