OBSIDIAN EDGE

A man in a red blazer, black shirt, gray pants, and glasses speaking into a microphone during a panel discussion or conference.

"Your life is a constellation of agreements. What you nourish, grows. What you avoid, festers. What you sharpen, cuts through."

Like obsidian, a stone of clarity, protection, and transformation, we help leaders uncover truth, align with purpose, and design solution-driven strategies that endure.

Through a holistic, earth-centered approach, we equip changemakers with the tools, insight, and courage to expand their capacity and drive systemic change from the inside out.

Whether you’re navigating equity challenges within your team, building strategic partnerships, confronting impostor syndrome, launching a new initiative, or simply seeking a trusted ally on your leadership journey, we walk beside you.

Together, we cut through the noise, nurture discernment, and cultivate the conditions where clarity, accountability, and transformation can take root.

Coaching from the Heart to Drive Meaningful Change

Our Services

  • We treat evaluation as ritual. Our assessments are not just metrics, they’re mirrors. We help you measure what matters: alignment, impact, and healing. Through a culturally rooted and data-informed process, we surface equity gaps, movement tensions, and opportunities for transformation. The goal: strategic clarity with soul.

  • Your structure reflects your spirit. Whether building out nonprofit governance (C3/C4), shifting internal culture, business incubation, or evolving leadership flow, we help you root your systems in justice. Designed for mighty teams with lean capacity, we offer tools to elevate collective rhythm, trust, and long-term sustainability.

  • Resource work is spiritual work. We build fundraising strategies rooted in trust, reciprocity, and relationship, not scarcity or survival. We support grant writing, donor communications, and access to aligned networks.

  • Equity isn't a checkbox, it's a living practice. Humanity and human values form a critical ecosystem, much like nature itself. We offer assessments, trainings, and deep structural work to shift how power moves within your organization. We don't just analyze bias; we hold people accountable to it, co-designing cultures where justice is embodied at every level.

  • We coach with care and clarity. Whether you’re an emerging leader, seasoned executive, or team navigating transition, our coaching holds space for complexity. Grounded in somatics, spirit, community organizing, and strategy, we support leaders in moving from performance to purpose.

  • Conflict is sacred when handled with care. We facilitate spaces for healing, restoration, and transformation, not avoidance. Conflict avoidance is not creating harmony or is it step toward our healing journey. Drawing from somatics, African spiritual traditions, and movement wisdom, we support organizations in navigating rupture and returning to right relationship.

  • We design gatherings that feed the soul and sharpen the vision. Whether strategic retreats, trainings, or internal convenings, we create containers rooted in justice, spiritual grounding, and collective clarity. When we gather with intention, we shift what's possible.

Nile's leadership has shaped social equity, climate justice, and regenerative economic efforts throughout the U.S., the Caribbean, and Africa.

Nile has held leadership roles with Communities for a Better Environment, California Environmental Justice Alliance, Climate Justice Alliance, Rainforest Action Network, Artisan Hub, and the Neighborhood Funders Group, where he collaborated with dozens of philanthropic leaders to launch multi-million-dollar collaborative funds focused on public policy, affordable housing, climate resilience, and grassroots power building. He has also served as a professor at New College of California and as a middle and high school educator, bringing a deep commitment to learning and leadership development across generations.

He is actively engaged in international partnerships as a board member of the Council of African Youth Advocates and the Royal African Company, and Skylink Agro Foods Limited and as a member of the Black Professionals in International Affairs Africa Working Group, focused on deepening diaspora connections across strategy, funding, and business development.

In 2025, Nile rebranded his consulting practice and launched Obsidian Edge, a coaching and consulting practice dedicated to building futures where resources are distributed equitably and systems reflect justice, liberation, healing, and cooperation. Through leadership coaching, strategic facilitation, and community-rooted consulting, he co-creates innovative models with individuals, institutions, and communities grounded in the belief that collective well-being is essential to transformation. His facilitation on power, masculinity, sustainability, and leadership invites a deeper reckoning with accountability, care, and the courage to change.

Rooted in healing and ancestral wisdom, Nile weaves culturally attuned practices that cultivate inner balance, authentic relationships, and leadership grounded in equity and spirit. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Sustainability and African American Studies from the University of Michigan and a Master's in Anthropology and Social Change from the California Institute of Integral Studies, with a focus on Gender, Ecology, and Postcolonial Studies.

Beyond his professional path, his passion lives in movement and story, in dance, writing, Afrofuturism, and the sacred art of weaving the African Diaspora. He is currently completing his debut novel, Obsidian Resurrection, a Black futurist, sci-fi family-centered thriller exploring power, healing, ancient rituals, revolution, and transformation. His Substack blog weaves together stories, humor, ancestral wisdom, and socio-political, environmental, and personal reflection.

Above all, Nile cherishes his role as a father to his teenage daughter and two teenage sons, co-parenting with intention and building community-based support systems that embody care, wholeness, and accountability. A wellness advocate, spiritual practitioner, and social entrepreneur, he continues to work towards bringing joy to the work that reminds us: change begins within, and ripples outward.
