OBSIDIAN EDGE

What We Do

Obsidian Edge exists for leaders operating inside complexity, constraint, and consequence.

We partner with senior leaders who are carrying real responsibility — people accountable not just for vision, but for decisions, people, systems, and outcomes. Our work focuses on strengthening how leadership actually functions under pressure: how choices are made, how authority is exercised, how teams are held, and how systems either reproduce harm or generate trust.

Each engagement is custom-built. We work closely, consistently, and directly — not to impose a model, but to clarify judgment, stabilize leadership practice, and strengthen the structures that hold your organization together.

This is not coaching for inspiration.
It is coaching for operational clarity, ethical authority, and sustained performance.

How We Work

Our approach is shaped by a simple belief: organizations don’t fail because people don’t care — they fail because leadership systems aren’t designed to hold reality.

1. We locate the pressure points

We begin by identifying where leadership is under strain.

Rather than starting with personality or style, we examine decision flow, accountability loops, role clarity, and power dynamics. We look at where responsibility concentrates, where avoidance shows up, and where informal rules override formal ones.

This phase is about seeing clearly — mapping what’s actually happening beneath the surface so we know where intervention will matter and where it won’t.

2. We work at the level of practice, not theory

We focus on what leaders are doing, not just what they believe.

Together, we refine how you:

  • Make and communicate decisions

  • Hold boundaries and expectations

  • Address conflict and underperformance

  • Build trust without overfunctioning

  • Translate values into operational norms

Our guidance is specific, contextual, and grounded in lived leadership realities — not generic frameworks or abstract ideals.

3. We stay with the work while it’s alive

Change doesn’t happen between sessions — it happens in moments.

We support leaders as they navigate high-stakes conversations, organizational inflection points, and moments of uncertainty. That might mean pressure-testing a decision, shaping language, preparing for resistance, or slowing a process down long enough to prevent damage.

We don’t just advise.
We help leaders hold steady while the system shifts.

4. We strengthen the structure, not just the leader

Our aim is not to make you indispensable.

We help leaders design roles, norms, and systems that distribute responsibility appropriately, reduce bottlenecks, and allow leadership to function beyond individual heroics.

When the work is effective, the organization becomes more resilient — not because everyone agrees, but because authority is clear, accountability is shared, and feedback can move without fear.

Who This Is For

Obsidian Edge coaching is designed for leaders who:

  • Hold formal authority within organizations advancing social, educational, or systemic change

  • Are responsible for people, strategy, and outcomes — not just ideas

  • Want to lead with integrity without absorbing unsustainable emotional or operational load

  • Are willing to examine how their leadership patterns shape culture, equity, and performance

  • Can commit to consistent engagement and real application between sessions

This work is not for leaders looking for reassurance.
It is for leaders ready to sharpen judgment, redesign systems, and lead with clarity.

Our Services

  • We treat evaluation as ritual. Our assessments are not just metrics—they’re mirrors. We help you measure what matters: alignment, impact, and healing. Through a culturally rooted and data-informed process, we surface equity gaps, movement tensions, and opportunities for transformation. The goal: strategic clarity with soul.

  • Your structure reflects your spirit. Whether building out nonprofit governance (C3/C4), shifting internal culture, business incubation, or evolving leadership flow, we help you root your systems in justice. Designed for mighty teams with lean capacity, we offer tools to elevate collective rhythm, trust, and long-term sustainability.

  • Resource work is spiritual work. We build fundraising strategies rooted in trust, reciprocity, and relationship—not scarcity or survival. We support grant writing, donor communications, and access to aligned networks—especially for BIPOC-led orgs that deserve to thrive, not hustle.

  • Equity isn't a checkbox, it's a living practice. Humanity and human values form a critical ecosystem, much like nature itself. We offer assessments, trainings, and deep structural work to shift how power moves within your organization. We don't just analyze bias; we hold people accountable to it, co-designing cultures where justice is embodied at every level.

  • We coach with care and clarity. Whether you’re an emerging leader, a seasoned executive, or a team navigating transition, our coaching holds space for complexity. Grounded in somatics, spirit, and strategic practice, we support you in leading from purpose—not performance.

  • Conflict is sacred when handled with care. We facilitate spaces for healing, restoration, and transformation, not avoidance. Conflict avoidance is not creating harmony or is it step toward our healing journey. Drawing from somatics, spiritual traditions, and movement wisdom, we support organizations in navigating rupture and returning to right relationship.

  • We design gatherings that feed the soul and sharpen the vision. Whether strategic retreats, trainings, or internal convenings, we create containers rooted in justice, spiritual grounding, and collective clarity. When we gather with intention, we shift what's possible.
